AETC & HSB Engineering

On the 1st of February 2011 John Ellis hosted a technical presentation at AETC Limited, Precision Castings Facility at Yeadon, Leeds. During the visit we were shown all aspects of investment casting, through from design and manufacture of moulds to inspection of the finished items. We would like to thank John, Janet and everyone at AETC involved with the visit.

On the 30th March 2011 Peter Cairns hosted a technical presentation at HSB Engineering Insurance Limited, Oldham, United Kingdom. During the visit we were shown the techniques and procedures used for in-service inspection of insured plant and were shown the training facilities at HSB Engineering's Headquarters.
During the visit we were shown one of the larger training samples used for in-service inspectors, a full size Horizontal Multi-Tubular Steam Boiler.
The presentation highlighted the necessity for the specific training andshowed failure modes and some of the the catastrophic effects defects can lead to.
We would like to extend our thanks to Peter and everyone else at HSB involved with the visit.
